so excited

We were looking at Ibit's picture when she was receiving her trophy. She looked like trying so hard to keep her lips closed.
"Why did you do that?"
"I had to keep my lips closed"
"You could've just smiled, like this girl beside you. She's smiling and it's nice"
"I didn't want to smile, I wanted to laugh and jump and scream..."

O yes, she was so excited.
And still is.

a new 'baby' in the house

Ibit is taking a classic piano lesson
and I thought she needs more than a simple keyboard we had

her teacher said it's a big sacrification for one to decide to buy this

YDP-151

well, you bet he's right
this thing is too big for our little house
and too 'big' for my 'small' wallet too
dia benar
benda ini terlalu besar buat rumah kecil kami
dan terlalu 'besar' buat dompetku yang 'kecil'

but no regrets
some things worth more than money
tapi aku sama sekali tidak menyesal
tidak semua bisa dinilai dengan uang

I cooked ayam semur (chicken smoor) for dinner. Ibit was reading up in her room when I was cooking it. She stepped few steps down stairs and (yelled) asked, "Are we having ayam semur for dinner?'. Yes she could smell it...

aku masak ayam semur buat makan malam. Ibit sedang di atas, di kamarnya waktu aku sedang memasaknya. Dia turun beberapa telundakan dan (agak berteriak) bertanya, "Apa kita akan makan ayam semur?". Ya, dia bisa mencium aromanya.

Ayam semur is her favorite
ayam semur adalah kesukaannya
AYAM SEMUR:
Heat 2 spoon of vegetable oil. Put in 4 chopped garlics. When the garlic smells good, put in 3 spoons of soy sauce, 500 grams cut chicken. Stir a little while then put 300 cc of water, 1/2 teaspoon of pepper, 1 spoon of oyster sauce, 1 teaspoon of salt. Wait until it is wellcooked. Done.

Celcius - Fahrenheit

I was so curious about how to convert Celcius to Fahrenheit or the opposite. I could just asked a science teacher, but don't know one... I tried to remember again the freezing point and boiling point in both version and tried to arrange a formula to convert them. This is the results:

mudah-mudahan benar...
I hope it is right...

1. Water freezing point is 0 degree Celcius, or 32 degrees Fahrenheit
2. Water boiling point is 100 degrees Celcius or 212 degrees Fahrenheit

Jadi untuk mengubah dari Celcius ke Fahrenheit:
So to convert Celcius to Fahrenheit:
T (c) = 5/9 * {T(f) - 32}

Dan untuk mengubah dari Fahrenheit ke Celcius:
And to convert Fahrenheit to Celcius:
T (f) = 9/5 * T (c) + 32

Di mana (where):
T (c) = temperature in Celcius
T (f) = temperature in Fahrenheit

So, if the temperature outside Casey's house was 50 degrees Fahrenheit, it means:
T (c) = 5/9 * (50 - 32) = 10 derajat Celcius -- suhu di dalam kulkas!
---------------------------- 10 degrees Celcius. like in a refrigerator!

And the temperature outside my house is 30 degree Celcius, which means:
T (f) = 9/5 * 30 + 32 = 86 derajat Fahrenheit.
---------------------------- 86 degrees Fahrenheit.

Now I can imagine how cold or how warm it is when people talk in Fahrenheit....

my name means...

I visited Forgetful one and found an interesting thing.
A link that will give you the hidden meaning of your name. I don't know what the basic, my name is, as my father told me, based on a sanskrit. Do they have the database for it?
Anyway, this is what they told me about my name's hidden meanings:

You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow. You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily.Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.
You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality.
You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life. You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home. You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.
You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.
You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.
You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated. You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want. You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way!

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.
You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life. You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you.At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.
You are truly an original person.
You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out.Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia. Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person.

What I highlithed, I think is close to what I am. The rest... I don't think so.

Few days review....

I want to give this duo a name. Ibit and her classmate Silmi have performed together in some occations and they've done so well...
This is from their last performance in a seminar last saturday...

Ar is a tough guy. We played snake and ladder. Ir quit after few steps and said, "I'm tired". I was the first to get to finish. Ibit took second place, and Dan was the third. Ar insist to continue playing, alone. I was too impatient to accompany him, so Dan did. So he went up and down several times, until finally finished the game. Congratulation!!

On our way back home after had some fun in Timezone yesterday...

FOUL

for sundayscribblings

I grew up in Solo, a region wellknown as an ultra-polite javanese, beside Yogya. I use to speak in polite java language to everyone.
The time I had to go to college, I had to live in Semarang. This is also a javanese region, but with more complicated people. Many people from other origins, from Sumatera, Kalimantan, and other islands.
My first impression was, the javanese language here is lil rough. My ears sometimes got itchy hearing it.
Especially among students, ooogh, so bad.
I remember a comment that a friend said, has make me completly dazed and speechless for a while. We were talking about an annoying professor. I was upset too, but to hear what my friend said has really shocked me.
He said, "dosene utege njeblug". In English: The proffessor's brain has blown up.
1. It's so impolite to say so about a professor
2. It's about the feel. You who don't know javanese language may not be able to feel it. 'uteg' is 'brain', but usually used for animals.
I thought (and still think) it was really foul.
I've been living in Semarang for over ten years now. My ears get used to hear foul words. But I try to keep myself, not to use them in my daily conversation.
